Got here via your interview with The Register regarding spaceship design.
This is one of the most useful modeling links I've ever clicked.
A while back I was going to attempt a 3-D model of the Refinery portion of the ship since there were already a number of pretty good ones of the Nostromo and the Narcissus, but I could only find the same 3 or 4 pics for reference.
With your post, I think I can tackle it now. Though it will almost certainly be more of an "inspired by" rather than a slavish reproduction, since Sketchup modeling is only a hobby for my own amusement.
