Mars Attacks

You'll likely know Mars Attacks as the 1996 Tim Burton movie in which a bunch of mental CG aliens rabbited around the place blowing everything up and trying to disintegrate Tom Jones. The original source material came from the 1962 Topps trading card series illustrated by Wallace Wood which depicts the story of a martian invasion in typical B-movie vintage chic. I've always been very fond of these old-school illustrations as I think the design of the martians just sums up B-movie kitsch and so here is the complete Mars Attacks set from Topps brought to you via internet time machine directly from 1962. INVASION!

Army men with helmets under their glass domes? I don't think the artist thought that through... I love the way the Martians got boring half way through so they introduce giant bugs instead!
And my favourite. "Watching from Mars" martian-tini anyone?
